Byron John (BJ) Behrens, age 53, passed away on February 21st 2010 at his home in Maple Valley where he lived for 18 years. BJ was diagnosed with Brain Cancer 16 month ago and fought a difficult battle to the end.

BJ was born on January 4th 1957 in Seattle, WA to Byron G. Behrens and Jo Anne R.Voegtlin.
He graduated from Issaquah High School, WA in 1975 and the University of Washington in 1982 with a Bachelors degree.
He later went on to work for the Boeing Company in Human Resources and met his wife, Andrea in Saudi Arabia on an overseas assignment.

With his incredible sense of wit and humor, BJ enjoyed life and made friends very easily. He adored his family and devoted a lot of his time to his 2 children and their love of sports.
BJ’s passion for golf, music and traveling combined with his love of meeting new people and sharing life stories, resulted in friendships with people from all over the world. He was a kind, deeply loving and forgiving man. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.
BJ is survived by his wife of 20 years Andrea, son, Christian, daughter, Rachel, father, Byron G. Behrens, mother, JoAnne R.Voegtlin, sisters, Heidi Willman and Mianna Harlepp, brothers Christopher and Erich Behrens, brother- in-law Jack, sisters in-law, Colette & Denise, nieces Mianna & Emily, nephews, Ryan & Nicholas, his and his wife’s extended families.

BJ was preceded in death by his brother Nicholas Behrens in 2003.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 11am at New Life Church, 15711 152nd Avenue SE, Renton, WA.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Youth Ministry Program of New Life Church or the charity of your choice.
