Chester Arthur Coutcher passed away on January 26, 2010. Born on April 22, 1931 to Rosetta and Dan Coutcher in Black Diamond, WA. Art graduated from Kent High School, then spent four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Porterfield.
On July 14, 1957 he married his longtime sweetheart Donna Estabrook. Art worked as an aircraft assembler/riveter for Boeing Aircraft Company and retired after 32 years of service.
Art was an active member of the FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH of KENT for many years. Art spent many hours and his own personal funds in support of Disabled Veterans, Battered Women and the Food Bank of Kent. He recently joined the Kiwanis Club and was excited about helping them in their charitable endeavors.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister, and beloved wife, Donna. He is survived by his son Steven of Renton, 4 sisters, a sister-in- law in Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
His optimism, generous spirit, and his ever present smile will forever be remembered by his family and friends.
Viewing and visitation will be at MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 713 N. Central, Kent, WA, from 10am to 3:30pm, Saturday January 30, and Monday February 1, 11:00am to 11:30am. Interment will follow at Tahoma National Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Located at 18600 Southeast 240th St. Kent, WA 98042-4868.
Memorial Services will follow at The First Christian Church of Kent at 2pm with a reception following. Located at 11717 Southeast 240th Street, Kent, WA 98031.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the first Christian Church of Kent or your local Food Bank.
